伊勢抹茶株式会社伊勢抹茶
Ise Matcha (伊勢抹茶株式会社) is a fourth-generation family tea producer based in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. Founded in 1935 as the Kanehann (カネ半) family tea farm, the company formally incorporated in April 2017 and simultaneously pivoted entirely to tencha (shade-dried tea) production for matcha — replacing all equipment with purpose-built tencha machinery. Today the company operates six traditional brick kilns across two factories, the largest such tencha facility in Japan. Their matcha is made exclusively from first-flush leaves grown on their own certified fields in the foothills of the Suzuka Mountains, where the east–west climate interplay between Ise Bay and the mountains creates ideal conditions. CEO Toshiaki Hada (4th generation) focuses on traditional craftsmanship while 5th-generation Wakana Hada promotes sustainable farming and modern retail. Certifications include JGAP (2015) and ASIAGAP group certification (2018). The brand holds a registered trademark on the name 伊勢抹茶. Their stone-ground matcha won the 2024 Omotenashi Selection Gold Award.
