by Nagatani Chagyo永谷茶業株式会社
A JAS-certified organic, naturally grown single-cultivar Gokou matcha, limited edition and stone-ground by Nagatani Chagyo at its Ohbukudani fields in Ujitawara. Sold internationally through Yunomi.life.

Editorial verdict
A gentle, easy-drinking organic Gokou with light astringency rather than the cultivar's more typical richness. Currently sold out at its only listed retailer, Yunomi.life, with no announced restock — worth flagging as limited/collectible rather than a everyday buy.

A relatively creamy cup for an organic matcha — smooth rather than rich, with a pleasant, not overwhelming, umami and only light astringency. Yunomi's tasting panel scored it 74/100, with even marks for umami, creaminess and low bitterness.

About the brand
永谷茶業株式会社
Nagatani Chagyo (永谷茶業株式会社) is a family-run Uji tea grower and wholesaler based in Yuyadani, Ujitawara — the Kyoto town where Nagatani Soen developed the steamed sencha method in 1738. The company's own English page says it has run its processing factory for more than 120 years, cultivating fields at Ohbukudani alongside tea bought from neighboring Ujitawara growers, and its official company profile lists matcha alongside sencha, gyokuro, and hojicha among the teas it handles. It operates as a regional wholesaler rather than a public consumer webshop; its stone-mill ground, single-cultivar matcha reaches international buyers mainly through the specialty importer Yunomi.life.
