About the brand
川原製茶
Kawahara Seicha (川原製茶) was founded in 1883 in Taki Town, Mie Prefecture. The company says it grows its tea in its own gardens and makes it in its own factory, then sells it directly. Its company history lists two recognitions in 2004: certification as a 'Mie Brand' business in March and certification as an organic processed-food manufacturer in November. Its direct stores include Takashimaya in Osaka and Yokohama, JR Nagoya Takashimaya, a shop in front of the Ise Shrine Naiku, and one in Matsusaka. As of October 2026 the company's matcha page lists two Mie-grown matchas, 翠雲 for usucha and 神楽 for koicha, 24g each. An April 2026 archived copy of that page listed Ise no Kuni and six Uji matchas, which the page no longer shows. The blend entries on this page come from that earlier lineup and have not been re-confirmed.
