About the brand
祇園辻利
Gion Tsujiri (祇園辻利) is a Kyoto tea house founded in Uji in 1860 (Manen 1) by Tsujiri Uemon (辻利右衛門). Its history page says the third head opened a Tsujiri shop in Taipei in 1899, and the fourth head returned and opened in Gion in 1948. The shop sells matcha blends under the 御好み (preferred-by) names of Urasenke, Omotesenke and Mushanokoji Senke, and one blend, Juttoku, is sold as 大本山建仁寺御用達 (purveyor to Kenninji temple). Its site says stone-milling yields only 40g of matcha an hour.
