Tenku no Matcha (天空の抹茶 — Sky Matcha) is Gashoan's flagship ceremonial drinking matcha and a registered trademark of Oyaizu Seiichi Shoten. The shade-grown tencha comes from the Kawane and Honzan mountain regions of Shizuoka, grown using UNESCO World Agricultural Heritage-recognized chagusaba farming. Ground at Oyaizu's own facility, the result is a matcha with deep sweetness, concentrated umami, refined mountain fragrance, and well-balanced bitterness. Presented in a 30g tin. Recommended paired with lightly sweetened wagashi such as kintsuba.
Editorial verdict
An impressive Shizuoka ceremonial matcha that earns its 'sky' namesake from mountain-grown depth. Rich umami and a harmonious bitter finish make it well-suited for both usucha and daily practice.
