Its company profile gives the founding as 1886 (Meiji 19), while its company history dates the first shop to 1881. The shop says its named matchas (Tenshizuku, Tama no Mine, Otomobe) are made from first-harvest tencha grown in Oku-Yame, and describes Kouju (煌寿) as made only from the Okumidori variety. The range also includes a lower-priced easy matcha and 50g and 100g business-use matchas for lattes, baking and cooking.
