The company's own history lists these milestones: 1954 Kenji Oishi became head; 1972 renamed Oishi Chaen; 1977 its tea garden won the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Award; 1991 Ochamura, a direct-sales company, set up; 2008 CCD foreign-matter removal installed on all lines at its head office; 2018 FSSC22000 and JAS Organic. Its site describes it as a wholesale company for corporate clients and says it supplies organic and pesticide-free teas to overseas markets.
