展茗Strong shading aroma, rich color development, quality comparable to Samidori and Asahi
A tencha cultivar bred by the Kyoto Prefectural Tea Research Institute from a natural cross seedling of Samidori (line 53-38), with selection beginning in 1977 and registration in 2006. Bred specifically for machine-harvested tencha, the raw leaf ground into matcha, and also suited to gyokuro.
