Shigematsu Kakujuen

重松鶴壽園

Shigematsu Kakujuen (重松鶴壽園) is a Yame tea wholesaler and direct-to-consumer shop based in Hirokawa, Fukuoka. Its official Japanese site presents the business as an Yame-focused tea specialist that insists on 100% Yame tea, buys aracha carefully without compromise, and favors distinctive small-lot teas over high-volume commodity blends.

Brand story

The company history on the official store page states that Shigematsu Yoshimi opened Shigematsu Yoshimi Shoten in 1962 at 479 Yoshitsune, Hirokawa. The trade name changed to Shigematsu Kakujuen in 1964, Masami Shigematsu became representative that same year, and Daisuke Shigematsu became representative in 2012. The brand says the owner personally buys aracha through the Yame tea market, then finishes and sells teas chosen for clear quality and individual character.
