京都利休園
Kyoto Rishouen is a heritage Japanese tea house brand that traces its roots to 1626 as an Asamiya tea producer and now sells Uji and Asamiya teas, matcha, sweets, and gift-oriented tea products.
Brand story
According to the official company profile, the first head Yamada Shinzaburo named the business "Rikyuen" in 1626 in homage to Sen no Rikyu and Shigaraki ware. Later generations shifted from tea production into retail; after winning the Minister of Agriculture prize at the 11th Kansai Tea Competition, the business incorporated in 1974. The current official profile names Yasuhito Nakai as representative director and says the company handles Uji tea, Asamiya tea, and matcha sourced from Wazuka and Shirakawa.
