ヘンタ製茶有限会社ヘンタ製茶
Henta Seicha (ヘンタ製茶有限会社) is a family-run organic tea farm and producer based in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Founded in 1967 by Satoru Henta with just 10 ares of land, the farm grew under second-generation owner Koichi Henta into 24 hectares of certified organic tea fields. Situated deep in the Kirishima mountains at around 200m elevation, the farm benefits from volcanic red soil and dramatic day-night temperature swings that produce complex, umami-rich teas. Henta Seicha holds Organic JAS and ASIA-GAP certifications across all fields and has exported to the United States, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the EU since 2015. Their premium tencha and matcha have been served aboard JR Kyushu's luxury Seven Stars sleeper train, and their teas have won the Monde Selection Gold Award (2011-2012) and Japan's Agricultural Minister's Award (2012). Kirishima is now Japan's No. 1 region for organic tea production, and Henta Seicha is one of its defining producers.
